SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to thermoplastic polyurethanes, a method for their production and their use for the production of plastic parts. Said thermoplastic polyurethanes are obtained from the interaction of a) at least one organic aromatic polyisocyanate, b) isocyanate-reactive polyhydroxylated compounds and c) chain extension agents in the presence of d) catalysts, if necessary, e) monofunctional chain terminating agents and f) aids and/or additives. Molecular weight of component b) is between 500 and 10,000 and the functionality is between 1.8 and 2.5. Component b) contains at least one para-formaldehyde-based polyol (b1) as a polyoxymethylene block copolymer, which is obtained by catalytic addition of ethylene and/or propylene oxide, and, if necessary, additional comonomers to at least one formaldehyde-based polymer starting compound, which has two terminal hydroxyl groups, in the presence of a double metal cyanide catalyst.
EFFECT: resulting thermoplastic polyurethanes have improved properties.
