FIELD: cutting.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to an automated system for cutting wire rod piled in rings into a coil. The system comprises a cutting mechanism, a hooked structure, and a video system. The cutting mechanism is configured to cut rings in the cutting positions of said rings. The hooked structure is configured to interact with the coil in order to transfer the coil to the cutting area. The cutting mechanism is configured to separate the ends of the coil in order to expose the rings located within the coil after the coil is placed in the cutting area. The video system is configured to identify the amount of rings within said coil and the cutting positions wherein the rings are to be cut. The cutting mechanism is configured to obtain the cutting positions.
EFFECT: wire rod cutting system is structurally simplified and control of the system is facilitated.
