FIELD: military technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of protection of mobile objects of ground-based military equipment from guided missiles with thermal homing heads implementing the “shot and forgot” guidance principle. The threat is determined by detecting the flame radiation of the main engine of the rocket during the climb of its flight. The detection process is carried out by a direction finder with a matrix photodetector optimized for angular resolution, field of view, dynamic range, threshold sensitivity, range and probability of correct detection for registration of flame radiation. While simultaneously taking into account the current angular oscillations of the object body in azimuth and angle of the place, the azimuthal position of the rocket launch site is estimated and the ascending section of the rocket flight path is monitored in the form of a line of a certain length being built “from bottom to top” on the picture plane of the matrix receiver. The length of this line is characterized by the number of rows of sensitive elements that perceive radiation, with the row numbers of the matrix increasing sequentially over time and when fixing the number of each of the irradiated elements in the row.
EFFECT: effectiveness of the protection of air defense facilities is increased by timely detection and identification of an attacking missile.
