SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of metallurgy, namely to a sheet of electrical steel with a grain-oriented structure used as a material for iron cores of transformers. The sheet contains a main steel sheet and an insulating coating located on the steel sheet. On the part of the base steel sheet at the interface between the steel sheet and the insulation coating, there is spinel, which is embedded in the insulation coating, and the amount of spinel is 5 to 50 mg/m2 per unit surface area of the base steel sheet.
EFFECT: reduced steel losses and excellent adhesion of the insulating coating.
