FIELD: space technology.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the design and operation of reusable space rocket stages. After braking and orientation of the spent stage (1) in a new direction, the brake shield (3-4), which protects the orientation engines from high-speed flow, is extended, expanded and returned back again. Then, for stable movement of the stage, heat-protective heat-resistant shells (not shown) are inflated around it, laid under covers (5) and (9). After passing the peak values of dynamic and thermal loads, the brake shells (not shown) are inflated by the oncoming air flow, the slings of which are fixed in the recesses of the housing and along the end of the stage. The required temperature in these shells is maintained by burning fuel in the orientation engines, creating an aerostatic force that ensures the final hovering of the stage above the Earth’s surface.
EFFECT: creation of a rather simple and reliable system for the return of rocket stages.
