SUBSTANCE: two-circuit gas turbine engine with the possibility of creating lateral thrust is designed for use on an aircraft with the possibility of landing in a crosswind. On each side of the nozzle of the external circuit of the engine, a side thrust nozzle is installed in the form of a rectangular window with a sash driven by hydraulic cylinders and opening the air outlet of the external circuit of the engine into the atmosphere, behind which, in the course of the movement of air in the engine, an inflated elastic annular shell is installed in the external circuit, which in the inflated state partially overlaps the passage section of the external circuit of the engine. The shell is connected through controlled valves by pipelines to one of the air intake from the compressor and the atmosphere. The shell is located on the outer or inner shell of the external circuit of the engine. The sensors of the crosswind speed, the opening angles of the flaps of the side nozzles and the degree of inflation of the elastic annular shell are connected to the automatic engine control system.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at increasing the flight safety of the aircraft.
