SUBSTANCE: invention relates to methods for purifying ground waters from iron compounds and surface waters from suspended impurities, can be applied in water treatment plans for industrial or household drinking water supply. The method for regenerating the floating load in a pressure filter includes flushing the impurities while expanding the load in the downflow of flushing water and removing the washed impurities from the filter. Prior to flushing, the level of water in the filter is preliminarily reduced to the state of separation of the load from the upper distribution apparatus, transferring the submerged compressed load to the free-floating hydraulically unloaded state. The load is then flushed in the downflow of loose fluidised bed.

EFFECT: reduced amount of water for load regeneration and reduction in the cost of further disposal of slushing waters.
