FIELD: heat engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of heat engineering; it can be used in devices for mechanical steam compression (MSC). A latent heat exchanger contains at least an evaporative-condenser tube or a chamber, the evaporative surface of which is covered, at least partially, by a structure, through which a saline solution flows, forming menisci (7), and water steam evaporates from the end of meniscus (7), and the condensation surface of which is covered, at least partially, by a capillary structure, on which steam condenses in a capillary condensation mode, forming menisci (8), while it includes at least one fan with a compression degree equal to or less than 1.11, designed to remove primary steam from the evaporative surface of the heat exchanger and increase its temperature and pressure to produce secondary steam, which is fed to the condensation surface of the latent heat exchanger.
EFFECT: industrial desalination with lower specific energy per unit of desalinated water.
