SUBSTANCE: invention relates to modified polytetrafluoroethylene intended for paste extrusion, having links based on tetrafluoroethylene, links based on monomer represented by the formula CH₂=CH–C_nF_2n+1 (1), where n is an integer from 2 to 6, and links based on monomer represented by the formula CF₂=CFO(LO)_mRf (2), where L is a perfluoroalkylene group, Rf is a perfluoroalkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, m is an integer equal to 0. In this case, the content of links based on monomer represented by the formula (1) is from 0.020 to 0.040 wt.% relatively to all links of modified polytetrafluoroethylene, and the content of links based on monomer represented by the formula (2) is from 0.003 to 0.008 wt.% relatively to all links of modified polytetrafluoroethylene. A molded product, material for coating an electric wire, an electric wire, and a method for the production of modified polytetrafluoroethylene are also proposed.

EFFECT: proposed modified PTFE can be molded at low extrusion pressure, and for which extrusion pressure changes are suppressed even in paste extrusion at high reduction ratio (RR).
