METHOD FOR HYDRAULIC FRACTURING Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC E21B43/20

Abstract RU 2772626 C1

FIELD: petroleum industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of petroleum and gas industry and can be used to intensify the production of petroleum and gas from productive reservoirs by hydraulic fracturing. In accordance with the proposed method for hydraulic fracturing, the upper and lower boundaries of the productive area intended for hydraulic fracturing are determined. A horizontal borehole intended for hydraulic fracturing is drilled in the productive area in the direction of maximum horizontal stress at the minimum possible distance over the lower boundary of the productive area ensuring the passage of the borehole inside the productive area. An auxiliary horizontal borehole is also drilled inside the productive area in the direction of maximum horizontal stress, parallel to the borehole intended for hydraulic fracturing, at the minimum possible distance below the upper boundary of the productive area ensuring the passage of the auxiliary borehole inside the productive area. The borehole intended for hydraulic fracturing is perforated in the vertical direction. The pressure in the auxiliary borehole is raised to a pressure below the fracture initiation level in the process of hydraulic fracturing while controlling the stability of the wellbore, and hydraulic fracturing is performed on the borehole intended for hydraulic fracturing, resulting in the formation of a hydraulic fracturing fracture between the upper and lower boundaries of the productive area.

EFFECT: provided possibility of creating a sufficiently long HF fracture with guaranteed inhibition of growth of the fracture in height within the desired boundaries.
