SUBSTANCE: area of application: invention relates to the field of marine technology and can be used as an apparatus for primary detection of low-noise marine objects in systems intended for protecting water areas from unauthorised entry of marine objects in the vicinity of protected hydraulic engineering structures (drilling rigs, tidal power plants, marine environmental monitoring stations, etc.). Substance: an additional channel for controlling the operation of the low-power active channel is included between the passive detection and classification channel and the low-power active detection channel, allowing or prohibiting operation of said active channel depending on the level of surrounding sonar noise.
EFFECT: increase in the privacy of operation of systems intended for protecting water areas from unauthorised entry of marine objects in the vicinity of protected hydraulic engineering structures and increase in the operating term thereof due to the reduction in energy consumption.
