FIELD: radio engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to radio engineering and can be used in onboard small-sized radio altimeters with quasi-continuous phase-manipulated EHF signals and a direct frequency conversion receiver. The method for forming a control signal for the built-in monitoring of the transceiver using quasi-continuous phase-manipulated signals consists in the delay of the quadrature components of the envelope of the probing signal, the subsequent quadrature phase modulation of the continuous signal by the delayed quadrature components of the envelope and the application of a control signal to the receiver input. The delay is carried out at the video frequency by quadrature demodulation of a part of the probing signal using a continuous signal with a frequency equal to the carrier frequency of this signal. The built-in control device of the transceiver with a direct frequency conversion receiver additionally contains two identical delay lines at the video frequency. The signal input of the FMC is connected to one of the outputs of the frequency synthesizer of the transmitter.
EFFECT: small dimensions and weight, the possibility of forming a control signal in coherent EHF-band transceivers, ease of practical implementation and high reliability.
