SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to blocking devices for actuating a valve in fire protection systems. The blocking device (4) for the valve drive is rotated when the valve drive is actuated by the transmission element (14), and this blocking device (4) is irreversibly transferred from the initial state to the alternative blocking state by operation. Said blocking device (4) comprises a first blocking element (41a) and a second blocking element (41b). The blocking elements (41a, 41b) are respectively designed to allow, in their respective unlocking position, the rotational movement of the transmission element (14) and, in their respective blocking position, to block the rotational movement of the transmission element (14) by engagement. This locking device also includes a drive device (43a, 43b), which drive device (43a, 43b) loads the first locking element (41a) and the second locking element (41b) with a force in the direction of their respective locking position.

EFFECT: blocking device also includes a holding device (44, 45) and a trigger (46), wherein the trigger (46) irreversibly deactivates the holding device (44, 45) when the switch-off temperature is exceeded and/or when loaded with release heat, and due to this the blocking device (4) starts up.
