FIELD: hydrocarbons production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the production of hydrocarbons from subsea formations, more specifically, to a floating platform and detachable riser assemblies and related support structures used in such production. A floating system with a floating extension and a method for connecting and disconnecting a floating offshore platform for hydrocarbon production from an underwater floating extension with risers slidably connected to it are proposed. Said floating system is capable of allowing rigid risers to connect and disconnect and optionally move between a first level below the floating offshore platform, such as near the floating extension, and a higher second level near the floating offshore platform, regardless of the pipe section, arch support and flexible connection for risers.
EFFECT: floating system is capable of reducing stress on risers by reducing the flex required for the riser to form a bail or other curved shape, even in the case of a rigid riser.
