FIELD: physical processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to stands for simulating low-frequency horizontal oscillations of ice. The stand is provided with a working platform installed on rubberised rollers, and the lower surface of the platform and the surface of the base of the stand are covered with polished glass. Low-frequency oscillations of the working platform are set by means of two vessels with liquid in communication. One of the vessels is therein attached by means of a cable to a pin inserted into the slot of the disk set on the shaft of a reduction gearbox connected, in turn, with the shaft of a DC electric engine with an adjustable shaft rotation speed. The rotation of the disk imparts oscillatory movements to one of the communicating vessels with liquid, causing a periodic change in the weight of the second vessel connected with the edge of the platform via a roller. The opposite edge of the platform is connected with the base of the stand by a return spring. The pin is configured to move in the slot of the disk and adjust the amplitude of oscillations of one of the communicating vessels, as well as adjust the amplitude of oscillations of the platform through the second vessel. The DC electric engine is configured to adjust the speed of rotation of the shaft.
EFFECT: increase in the quality of simulation (modelling) of low-frequency wave and oscillatory processes occurring in a horizontal plane in the ice cover, in order to increase the seismometer testing accuracy.
