STAND FOR IMITATION OF LOW-FREQUENCY VERTICAL VIBRATIONS OF ICE Russian patent published in 2023 - IPC G01M7/02 G01V1/16

Abstract RU 2797928 C1

FIELD: measuring technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related in particular to ice science and ice engineering, and can be used for physical modelling of oscillatory and wave processes occurring in natural ice cover, as well as for testing seismometers. The device has a platform made in the form of a float immersed in a tank with liquid. To fix the platform in the centre of the tank and to additionally eliminate its parasitic movements, an elastic membrane is used, which is fixed along the perimeter of the float and along the walls of the tank at the level of the liquid surface in the tank. On the bottom surface of the platform there is a damper in the form of two cross-shaped plates. One or more test seismometers are installed on the platform. Vertical vibrations of the platform are ensured by communicating containers formed by a tank and a master vessel, connected by a flexible hose and filled with liquid. Between the bottom of the tank and the platform there is a liquid flow divider, which ensures a uniform flow of liquid during oscillations of the master vessel. The master vessel is connected by a cable thrown over the roller to a peg installed in the slot of the disk mounted on the shaft of the reduction gear, which is connected to the shaft of the DC electric motor. Moving the peg in the slot of the disc makes it possible to adjust the amplitude of oscillations of the master vessel and, as a result, the amplitude of oscillations of the platform. The use of a DC motor with an adjustable shaft speed and the presence of a reduction gear provide a wide range of setting low-frequency vibrations to the platform.

EFFECT: improvement of the quality of simulation of vertical low-frequency oscillatory processes of ice cover in order to increase the accuracy of testing the vertical components of seismometers.
