FIELD: internal combustion engines.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for filtering air entering an internal combustion engine. The device is designed to clean atmospheric air from mechanical and chemical particles for subsequent mixing with liquid or gaseous fuels. The filter element includes a housing, a curtain in the form of a corrugation made of a filter material, a thread wound in turns over the curtain. The curtain is made of filter paper with a filtration area of at least 11.0 m2 in the form of a corrugation, which is made along a circle with a step of up to 2.5 mm between its tops, with a possible discrepancy of not more than 10 mm in two places. As a thread, a polyamide pneumotextured thread is used. Polyamide pneumotextured thread is made with nominal linear density from 100 to 120 tex. Polyamide pneumotextured thread is made with elongation at break from 25 to 34%. Polyamide pneumotextured thread is made with linear shrinkage from 4.3 to 10%. Polyamide pneumotextured thread is made with 68 filaments. The polyamide pneumotextured thread is made with a mass fraction of lubricant not more than 1.5%; it is made with a moisture content of not more than 7.0%.
EFFECT: increasing the life of the filter element, increasing the resistance of the filter element to clean air.
