FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: pressure regulator contains output pressure sensor (16), load electromagnetic valve (18), discharge electromagnetic valve (20), and regulator control circuit (30) functionally connected to load electromagnetic valve (18) and discharge electromagnetic valve (20), and made with the possibility of control of load electromagnetic valve (18) and discharge electromagnetic valve (20) so that to eliminate an error signal set by the difference between an input signal corresponding to the required output pressure and a feedback signal coming from the output pressure sensor. The regulator additionally contains a scheme for interaction current analysis, made with the possibility of: a) detection and storage of reference characteristics of a wave-shaped interaction current signal of a solenoid of the load electromagnetic valve at stable input pressure; b) control of a shape of the wave-shaped signal of the mentioned interaction current during operation of the regulator to detect any deviations of its characteristics from corresponding reference characteristics; c) sending of a modulated control signal to load electromagnetic valve (18) and/or discharge electromagnetic valve (20), and/or a pressure change signal to control circuit (30) in case of deviation.
