FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: solenoid valve comprises electromagnet (10) and valve body (12), in which one or several holes (14, 16, 18) are made with possibility of fluid medium passage under pressure. Electromagnet (10) comprises solenoid (102) controlled by solenoid current, and magnetic circuit containing movable core (104) located and moved in solenoid. Method for diagnosing faults in a solenoid valve comprises the following steps: a) storing in permanent memory the reference characteristics of the current waveform of the solenoid, b) recording the characteristics of the current curve of the solenoid during operation of the solenoid valve, c) comparing the reference characteristics with the recorded characteristics, d) when the value of the recorded characteristics deviates from the value of the reference characteristics, an alarm signal is generated on failure in the operation of the solenoid valve. Before generating an alarm, step d) comprises step d1) — comparing the pressure value of the fluid entering the inlet of the solenoid valve with a predetermined range of pressure values; in case the pressure value deviates from the said predetermined pressure range, step d2) is performed — adjustment of the pressure value and repetition of steps b) and c). An alarm signal is generated in case of deviation of the value of the recorded characteristics from the value of the reference characteristics and deviation of the pressure value of the fluid medium from a predetermined range of pressure values.
EFFECT: detection of possible malfunctions in operation or significant reduction of values of operating characteristics of solenoid valves.
