FIELD: quantum frequency standard operating mode selection.

SUBSTANCE: methods are proposed for selecting the operating mode of the quantum frequency standard, in which the dependence of the output frequency on the operating wavelength of the laser is reduced. According to one version of the method, the extremum point (minimum or maximum) of the dependence of the output frequency on the laser wavelength is selected as the operating wavelength of the laser, and the wavelength λ00 is adjusted by comparing the output signals of quantum frequency discriminators for two alternating operating wavelengths λ1 and λ2, and -λ00001, without any reference to the absorption peaks of the cell. In another version of the method, the steepness of the dependence of the output frequency on the laser wavelength is reduced, while simultaneously improving the signal-to-noise ratio in the quantum frequency discriminator, for which the operating wavelength of the laser is modulated with a significant amplitude comparable to half the absorption line width in the absorption spectrum of the cell.

EFFECT: increasing the accuracy of the quantum frequency standard by increasing the frequency stability of the signal at the output of the device.
