FIELD: navigation equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a small-sized atomic clock based on the effect of coherent population trapping, which provides a highly stable output signal with frequency of 10 MHz. For this purpose, proposed is a small-sized atomic clock based on the effect of coherent population trapping, which contain a diode laser with a vertical resonator and a quantum discriminator installed in series, as well as a microwave generator designed to modulate the injection current of the diode laser. Quantum discriminator is equipped with means for laser radiation beam splitting into two parallel beams of different power and two photodetectors, each of which is designed to detect a corresponding laser beam.
EFFECT: high frequency stability of atomic clocks.
