FIELD: ceramics.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in creating solid-state lasers, including fibre lasers, and luminescent optical materials. Luminescent alkaline-germanate glass ceramics with tetravalent manganese ions are glass ceramics, in the matrix whereof crystals of Li2Ge7O15 are formed in the process of heat treatment at a temperature of 540 to 700°C for 1 to 10 hours, containing MnO2 0.0005 to 2 mol.%.
EFFECT: simplified technology for manufacturing luminescent alkaline-germanate glass ceramics with tetravalent manganese ions, increase in the mechanical strength and chemical resistance, and production of an optical material transparent in the 400 to 900 nm region.
