METHOD FOR PRODUCTION OF MICRO-FIBROUS NON-WOVEN SYNTHETIC SUEDE-LIKE MATERIAL Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC D06N3/00 D06N3/14

Abstract RU 2774688 C2

FIELD: textile industry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to the production of non-woven materials. For the production of micro-fibrous non-woven material, two-component fiber of the “island-in-the-sea” type is obtained, in which a sea component is polymer, which is removed in hot water or in an aqueous alkaline solution. Felt is made by punching two-component fiber of the “island-in-the-sea” type with a needle. The specified felt is hot impregnated with an aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol (hereinafter – PVA) having a saponification degree of at least 94%, possibly with the addition of water-soluble organic or inorganic salt. The sea component is removed from felt impregnated with PVA, obtained at the stage c) by contact of felt with an aqueous basic solution of alkali or alkaline earth metal hydroxide, thus obtaining an intermediate micro-fibrous product. The intermediate micro-fibrous product is washed with neutral water containing water-soluble organic or inorganic salt, or acidic water, or neutral water, if the aqueous solution of polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) of the stage c) is supplemented with water-soluble organic or inorganic salt. The intermediate micro-fibrous product is cold impregnated with polyurethane (hereinafter – PU) dispersed in water containing additives for viscosity control and possible water-soluble substances. Polyurethane (PU) is fixed on the intermediate micro-fibrous product by coagulating a dispersion of polyurethane and subsequent drying. PVA, salt, additives are removed. Material obtained in such a way is subjected to cutting, grinding on one or both sides, and staining.

EFFECT: micro-fibrous non-woven material is obtained, which allows the use of water instead of organic solvents, but unlike already known aqueous processes, obtained non-woven material has excellent wear resistance and touch characteristics, improved stain resistance and has no defects caused by excessive adhesion between micro-fiber and polyurethane, such as, for example, noise and low elasticity, rigidity and cardboard-like touch and crack resistance after rolling.
