FIELD: textile, paper.

SUBSTANCE: includes the following steps: a) felt production by needle-piercing of the "island-in-the-sea" type bicomponent fibre; b) hot impregnation of the felt with water or the polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) aqueous solution, having the saponification degree of at least 94%, and then cold impregnation with polyurethane (PU); c) removing the "sea" component from the intermediate product of step b); d) impregnation of the microfibre intermediate PU product; e) fixation of PU with the microfibre intermediate product by coagulation and removal of PVA, optionally introduced in the step b); and f) sanding the produced material on one or both sides, painting and splitting, performing in the indicated order.

EFFECT: invention does not require using of organic solvents and makes possible to obtain the completed product with good touch properties, excellent yellowing resistance and high durability.
