FIELD: railway track superstructure.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of the superstructure of a railway track, in particular to methods for welding a manganese steel cross with a carbon steel rail. The method consists in the fact that an intermediate insert made of chromium-nickel steel is welded to the rail. In this case, the insert from the side of the rail is pointed in the form of a wedge, and the end of the rail has a recess, the surfaces of which are parallel to the surfaces of the wedge of the intermediate insert. The insert is welded by fusion welding. Cooling of the welded joint is carried out in natural conditions. The welded insert is cut to the minimum length. A manganese steel crosspiece is welded to the insert.
EFFECT: complexity of the welding process is reduced.
