SUBSTANCE: inventions group relates to an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) for diagnosing, maintaining and repairing a high-voltage overhead transmission line and a method for equalizing potentials when landing on an energized wire or ground wire of an overhead line. The UAV contains a potential equalization device connected in series through a current-limiting resistor with UAV electronic devices, combined into a single equipotential surface, which is their zero point. To equalize the potentials during landing, the initial contact with the wire is carried out using a potential equalization device, then the landing is carried out on the wire or ground wire of the overhead line.

EFFECT: UAV electronic devices are protected from the impact of the electric voltage of the overhead line.
