FIELD: mechanical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to mechanical engineering and can be used in turning, milling, drilling machines, as well as machines with numerical control for clamping a cylindrical workpiece or cutting tool shanks. A collet for clamping a cylindrical workpiece contains a conical body with a through axial hole and slots on each end, separated from the opposite end by bridges, which are located on two cylindrical protrusions located on the ends of the collet. At the same time, the body is made as a composite of two stepped parts, between which a hard-alloy insert is pressed with an interference fit, the inner diameter of which coincides with the diameter of the through axial hole, while one of the parts of the body has a cylindrical ledge, made with the possibility of putting on it the other of the parts, and the parts of the bodies are soldered together.
EFFECT: increase in durability is achieved by reducing the wear of the inner surface of the axial hole.
