FIELD: space technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the power propulsion systems of spacecraft. The proposed ion-plasma reactive device contains a system for accumulation and replenishment of the working substance (hydrogen) from external sources, modules of ionization and initial acceleration of protons and a multichannel linear accelerator (MLA) for obtaining relativistic protons, made on the basis of superconducting structures. There is also a proton flow control system, of which one creates thrust during neutralization and release of protons from the MLA, and the other is used to generate energy on board the spacecraft. The MLA is mounted on a retractable telescopic structure, with the placement of accelerating MLA structures along the edge of its body. This structure, when folded (inoperable), is twisted to create artificial gravity.
EFFECT: improving the efficiency, including the achievable flight speed, of the spacecraft’s power propulsion system during interplanetary and interstellar expeditions.
