FIELD: astronautics.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of space equipment and can be used in the electric propulsion engines, in particular, in the stationary plasma engines (SPE), as well as in used in the vacuum-plasma technology technological plasma accelerators. In the plasma accelerator with closed electron drift comprising at least one compensator cathode, discharge system and magnetic system comprising the back magnetic core, inner and outer magnetic cores, inner and outer magnetic poles and at least one source of the magnetizing force, inner and outer magnetic poles end sections are made arc-shaped with such curvature radius that into the discharge system exit zone only the inner and outer magnetic poles edges are protruded. Internal magnetic core with internal magnetic pole and external magnetic core with external magnetic pole are conjugated in the arc-like manner. Back magnetic core and internal magnetic core may be conjugated in the arc-like manner. Back magnetic core and the outer magnetic core can also be conjugated in the arc-like manner. Inner magnetic core may be made hollow.
EFFECT: invention allows to increase the plasma accelerator operation efficiency.
