SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of controlling the packaging transported by a sorting machine. Disclosed is an apparatus for controlling the packaging transported by a sorting machine, wherein said apparatus comprises: a communication interface receiving packaging information including name and address information obtained by processing character recognition in an image obtained by forming an image of the transported package, and an X-ray image of the package, and an operation signal generated based on the operator operation; and a processing unit retrieving, as a result of extracting from past history wherein the control result information indicating whether the package is a candidate for a regulated product, generated based on the operation signal, and the packaging information are associated together, control result information corresponding to the packaging information including name and address information obtained from the newly transported package, wherein the processing unit, based on the operation signal, adds a sorting reason, indicating the reason for the package being determined as a candidate for a regulated product by the operator, to the control result information, and outputs information based on the amount of packages, whereof each has predetermined sorting reasons and is extracted from past history.

EFFECT: possibility of effectively determining whether the transported package is a candidate for packaging a product in need of additional control.
