FIELD: glass industry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of decorating glass and glass products and can be used in the glass industry at the technological stage of applying decorative coatings to glass household goods. The method for applying a metal coating of copper or copper alloy to glass products includes the following operations. Pumping air to a vacuum of 0.008 Pa from the spraying chamber and rotating the basket with glass products at a basket rotation speed of 2 rpm. Argon supply to a pressure of 0.06 Pa and the inclusion of an ion cleaning source for the surface of glass products with the following parameters: anode voltage 3 kV, anode current 200 mA and cleaning time 20 min. At the same time, the surface of glass products is bombarded in high vacuum with argon ions with an energy of 102-105 eV. Then, magnetron sputtering sources with installed targets made of copper or copper alloy are turned on and, when the pressure of the injected argon is stabilized at 0.05 Pa, an opaque reflective layer of copper or copper alloy is applied to glass products for 15 minutes, with the following parameters: the current of the sources is 10 A and the voltage is 400-450 V. After that, atmospheric pressure is created in the spraying chamber and after unloading the said basket, a layer of varnish is applied to the copper alloy layer applied to the glass products. Then the glass products are placed in muffle furnaces and kept at a temperature of 50°C for 5 minutes.

EFFECT: increase in the strength of the decorative coating is provided.
