FIELD: testing equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and system for numerical evaluation of the visual quality of aerial and space photographs. In the method, an aerial or space photograph is loaded into the system to assess the visual quality, the values of the following indicators of the visual quality of the aero and space photographs are calculated using algorithms and software: spatial resolution (R), photographic sharpness (s), local contrast (K), color imbalance (Δ), standard deviation (RMS) of random noise (NRMS), haze brightness (haze), radiometric resolution (Rbit), indicators of information loss in the shadow and illumination area (lackshd, lackill), then each indicator value calculated from the photograph is compared with the recommended and acceptable values separately, according to the results of the comparison, each indicator is assigned the status “good”, “satisfactory”, “unsatisfactory”, the status “good” is assigned to the indicator if its value does not exceed or not less, depending on the indicator, than the recommended value, the status “satisfactory” is assigned to the indicator if its value exceeds the recommended value or less than it, depending on the indicator, but does not exceed the permissible value or not less than it, depending on the indicator, the status “unsatisfactory” is assigned to an indicator if its value exceeds or less, depending on the indicator, than the recommended value, then the status “good”, or “satisfactory”, or “unsatisfactory” is assigned to the aero or space photograph according to the assigned statuses of the following indicators: spatial resolution (R), photographic sharpness (s), color imbalance (Δ), standard deviation (RMS) of random noise (NRMS), haze brightness (haze), radiometric resolution (Rbit), indicators of information loss in the area of shadow and illumination (lackshd, lackill), the quality status “good” is assigned to an aerial or space photograph if more than 50% of the indicators of the visual quality of the aero- or a space photograph have the status “good”, the status “satisfactory” is assigned to the quality of an aero or space photograph if more than 50% of the indicators of the visual quality of an aero or space photograph have the status “satisfactory”, the status “unsatisfactory” is assigned to the quality of an aero or space photograph if at least one of the indicators of an aero or space photograph the space photograph has the status “unsatisfactory”, regardless of the status of the other indicators.
EFFECT: increase in the accuracy of the assessment of the quality of the photograph.
