SUBSTANCE: machine for planting seedlings and plantlets with an open and closed root system consists of a frame with a hitch, a coulter, compacting rollers, a chain planter, drive wheels with lugs, a chain drive of a chain planter, planters' chairs and a box for planting material. The chain landing apparatus consists of a chain transmission made in the form of two chains interconnected by bushings, grippers mounted on axles, a block of drive sprockets, driven sprockets, gripper opening bars, a damper, a response mechanism. The grippers of the chain planting apparatus are made oscillating, the axis of each gripper is located in a sleeve attached to the chains, as a result of which, when the movement trajectory changes, the gripper will remain horizontal, and the seedling or plantlet will be located vertically from the moment it is inserted into the gripper until the moment of planting. The necessary orientation of the gripper and planting material is provided by the response mechanism and the roller of the gripper rotation lever connected to the gripper axis. The opening of the grippers occurs due to the slats only in the vertical section for placing the seedling or plantlet in the gripper and in the horizontal section after the seedling or plantlet falls asleep. The drive of the chain planter is carried out by a chain transmission from the axle, on which the drive wheels with lugs are rigidly planted.

EFFECT: ensuring the possibility of planting seedlings and plantlets with both open and closed root systems.
