SUBSTANCE: invention relates to forestry, in particular to machines for planting tree seedlings with open and closed root systems. Forest planter contains a frame with a hinged device, a coulter, compacting rollers, a rotary planter, chairs for planters, boxes for planting material, support wheels. The rotary lander is equipped with grippers and is a housing made in the form of a gearbox with a drive wheel and drive gears engaged with it. The grippers of the rotary landing apparatus are located on rotating axes rigidly connected to the drive gears. For one revolution of the rotary landing gear, the drive gears also make one revolution around their axis, as a result of which the condition of a constant horizontal location of the grippers is fulfilled. The transmission of torque from the supporting wheels to the drive wheel and to the body of the rotary lander is carried out through a frictional safety clutch by means of chain gears, while the frictional safety clutch protects the rotary landing apparatus from breakage when it encounters obstacles.

EFFECT: use of the invention will make it possible to plant seedlings with both open and closed root systems, which makes the planting machine universal and reduces forestry costs for storage and maintenance of equipment.
