FIELD: staple fibers production.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and apparatus for the production of staple fibers from natural fibers. Additionally, the application relates to staple fibers, raw wool from staple fibers and products containing them. The method comprises the following steps: supplying a cellulose slurry comprising water, degraded cellulose fibrils and at least one rheological modifier, directing the cellulose slurry through a nozzle onto the surface of a wire or cylinder tape, drying the cellulose slurry on the surface to form a fiber, and cutting the cellulose suspensions on the surface to form staple fibers.
EFFECT: invention makes it possible to exclude from the apparatus for the production of staple fibers the mechanisms for transferring cellulose suspension, thereby making the equipment more compact, and also to exclude the stage of transferring the suspension to separate devices for drying and cutting.
