SUBSTANCE: present invention can be used at the first stage of conversion of methane into fuel, followed by the second stage of conversion, Fischer-Tropsch product synthesis. Options of a method for the production of products of synthesis gas containing H2 and CO are claimed. One of options of the method for the production of synthesis gas consists in the supply of a gaseous mixture to a steam reforming reactor with CO2, which contains a catalyst on a solid carrier. The gaseous mixture contains methane, CO2 and H2O. The catalyst contains at least 2 noble metals selected from a group of Pt, Rh, Ru, Pd, Ag, Os, Ir, Au and contains less than 0.05% of metals different from the specified two noble metals and metals of the solid carrier. The solid carrier contains at least 80% of cerium oxide. In the reactor, at least 80% of methane is converted by the reaction with CO2 and H2O as oxidizers.
EFFECT: reduction in rates of carbon formation and catalyst deactivation because of coking, reduction in significant capital and operational costs for the removal of sulfur and other poisons from used catalysts.
