FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to heterogeneous catalysts, a method for their production, and a method for direct carbonylation of nitroaromatic compounds into aromatic isocyanates. A method is proposed for the production of aromatic isocyanate by direct carbonylation of a nitroaromatic compound by reaction of the nitroaromatic compound with carbon monoxide in the presence of a catalyst, which contains multi-metal material containing one or more binary intermetallic phases of the general formula AxBy, where A is one or more elements selected from Rh and Pd, B is one or more elements selected from Sn, Sb, Pb, Ga, and In, x is in the range from 0.1 - 10, y is in the range from 0.1 - 10. The invention also relates to a catalyst containing multi-metal material, which contains the above-mentioned one or more binary intermetallic phases of the general formula AxBy. The method for the production of the catalyst includes stages (i) and (iv) of: (i) provision of one or more precursors for elements A and B and optionally component C in the form of a solution; (ii) application of metal precursors to carrier material; (iii) reducing treatment of composite material; (iv) heat treatment of composite material.
EFFECT: providing a method for carbonylation of nitroaromatic compounds to a corresponding isocyanate showing a significant improvement in activity and selectivity.
