SUBSTANCE: polypeptide containing an amino acid sequence is presented. Polypeptide is capable of providing types of an immune response to foot-and-mouth disease virus (hereinafter – FMDV). Polynucleotide encoding the amino acid sequence of the claimed polypeptide, an expression plasmid containing polynucleotide, a vaccine composition against foot-and-mouth disease (FMD), containing the effective amount of the expression plasmid, and a method for the provision of types of an immune response to FMDV serotype A in a subject, including the administration to the subject of a vaccine composition, are presented.

EFFECT: invention provides for effective protection from Asian topotype of type A foot-and-mouth disease virus found in Korea and neighboring East Asian countries, such as China or Taiwan.
