FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the chemistry of heterocyclic compounds, namely to esters of 3,4-dialkoxy-2,5-thiophene dicarboxylic acid (formula I and II). The method for obtaining esters of 3,4-dialkoxy-2,5-thiophene dicarboxylic acid (formulas I and II) consists in the interaction of diethyl ester of 3,4-dihydroxy-2,5-thiophene dicarboxylic acid with dialkyl carbonates in the presence of bromides or chlorides of quaternary ammonium bases in autoclave made of titanium, with stirring at 150-180°C for 10-48 hours.
EFFECT: creation of an environmentally safe and waste-free "green" method for obtaining esters of 3,4-dialkoxythiophene-2,5-dicarboxylic acids I and II with the possibility of organizing the recycling of unreacted substances.
