SUBSTANCE: disclosed are absorbent articles with curved elastic layered materials, as well as apparatus and methods for creating said articles. In one variant of implementation, an absorbent article with a frontal waist area, a crotch area, and a back waist area may comprise a base containing: a body-facing lining material, an outer coating, and an absorbent element. The article may additionally comprise a pair of elastic layered materials attached to the base forming elastic leg cuffs. Each of the first pair of elastic layered materials may comprise a layered material forming a bend and an elastomeric element located in the gap of the layered material. Each of the first pair of elastic layered materials can be attached to the base so that the bend comprises the outermost longitudinal edge of the article over the entire crotch area, and the bend and elastomeric element of each of the elastic layered materials may pass with curvature over the entire crotch area.

EFFECT: creation of a functional absorbent article.
