SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the automotive industry. In a pneumatic tire (1), a set of first contact sections (3A) are arranged in an orderly manner next to each other in the direction along the circumference of the tire and a set of second contact sections (3B) are arranged in an orderly manner next to each other in the direction along the circumference of the tire. In addition, the first contact sections (3A) and the second contact sections (3B) are arranged alternately along the equatorial plane (CL) of the tire. In addition, each of the first contact sections (3A) and the second contact sections (3B) includes a set of through grooves (41, 42) that pass through the contact section (3A, 3B) and open into two inclined main grooves, and a set of blocks (51-53), the boundaries of which are determined by through grooves (41, 42). Blocks (51-53) include the innermost central block (51), which is defined as the block closest to the equatorial plane (CL) of the tire. In addition, the edge part of the innermost central block (51) includes a recess (61), which opens into a part in which the inclined main grooves (2A, 2B) are connected.
EFFECT: improvement in operational characteristics when driving on wet roads and on snow.
