FIELD: metal processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the manufacture of spherical metal products. Through-heating of round blanks of the appropriate size is carried out in a medium-frequency induction device, rolling of balls on a cross-screw rolling mill at a temperature of 950-1070°C, quenching of balls to a temperature of 125-160°C in a quenching drum with cooling with running water and self-release of balls in containers. After rolling, the balls are cooled to 620-700°C in a cooling drum with forced air cooling. Subsequent surface heating of the balls is carried out up to 850-930°C in a high-frequency induction device containing a rotating transport tube and several sections of inductors.
EFFECT: as a result, the wear resistance and impact resistance of metal balls increases.
