FIELD: production of grinding balls.
SUBSTANCE: steel is smelted, balls are rolled and heat treated. The steel is cast into billets of square section. These blanks are rolled into round blanks, the diameter of which corresponds to the nominal diameter of the final balls within the range of 60–100 mm. Round billets are heated to 1010–1160°C. Produce cross-helical rolling with a temperature of the end of rolling 950-1100°C. The balls are chilled to 780–890°C. The balls are hardened to 160–250°C. Next, the balls are tempered at 220–300°C for 45–80 min.
EFFECT: impact resistance of the balls is increased.
