FIELD: construction.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of construction, namely to devices for thermal stabilization by changing the conditions of heat exchange of the surface of the soil and surface ice with the surrounding air. The effect is achieved by the fact that the method for thermal stabilization of frozen rocks includes shielding the soil from solar radiation and atmospheric precipitation and suppressing convective heat transfer by placing a layer of heat-insulating material on the surface of the heat-stabilized soil area in the warm season and lifting this heat-insulating layer to a height of at least local height of the snow cover and ensuring free air circulation under it.
EFFECT: prevention of thawing of permafrost soil without external power supply.
