FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to a method for the production of vinyl-n-butyl ester used as a semi-product for the production of (co)polymers and plasticizers, for example, in the medical industry or in the production of agricultural chemicals. The method consists in gas-phase dehydration of butylcellosolve in the presence of a catalytic system consisting of a mixture of cesium nitrate and potassium hydroxide, applied to activated large-porous granular silica gel, at the same time, dehydration process is carried out at a temperature of 300-400°C and a raw material supply rate of 1100-1500 h-1.
EFFECT: increase in the yield of a target product, and increase in conversion.
