FIELD: thermometry.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of thermometry, specifically for control of polarity of thermoelectrodes. A method for control of polarity of thermoelectrodes is proposed, in which, in the absence of access to a place of connection and possibility of change in a temperature of a hot junction, electrodes are heated, and, after heating, thermos-electromotive force is measured at free ends of compensation wires. Moreover, a temperature drop is performed by heating of only free ends of a cold junction. Polarity of thermoelectrodes is determined by readings of a measuring device.

EFFECT: reduction in operational costs, namely the possibility of determination of polarity without change in an operation mode and impact on operation of thermometered installations.
