FIELD: petroleum industry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of petroleum refining, in particular, to processes of catalytic cracking of high-boiling petroleum raw materials, including straight-run oil residues, aimed at increasing the amount of light fractions. Invention relates to a method for recycling heavy petroleum raw materials by catalytic cracking in the presence of a catalyst. A double salt NaCl·AlCl3 applied on γ aluminium oxide is used as a catalyst in a double salt:γ aluminium oxide mass ratio of 1:3; the process is conducted at a temperature of 450 to 650°C and a volumetric feed rate of raw materials of 1 to 3 h-1, resulting in gaseous and liquid hydrocarbon fractions.
EFFECT: increase in the yield of gaseous hydrocarbons, primarily C2–C4 olefins, with the maintained high yield of light fractions.
