FIELD: metal working.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metal working and can be used to produce annular items with high shape precision, such as bearing rings. After the workpiece is upset, an annular forging is formed therefrom by hot forging in closed dies. Forming is executed in three passes, including upsetting, pre-forging, and final forging. The central hole is then pierced, and the forging is rolled out. The rolled forging undergoes the expansion of the inner diameter in the hot state on an expanding machine with numerical program control.
EFFECT: increase in the precision of shape of the annular items, increase in the strength of die tooling, and reduction in the consumption of cutting tools.
