FIELD: powder metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, in particular, to methods for producing spherical particles of a powder of corrosion-resistant steel. Invention can be used for manufacturing products of the automotive or aviation industry by injection or additive moulding. The melt of corrosion-resistant steel of a set composition is sprayed with water jets in the spraying chamber at a specific water consumption Qwater/Qmetal=0.5 to 1.0 l/kg. Alternatively, the melt is additionally alloyed with boron in an amount of 0.5 to 2.0% wt. prior to spraying. The resulting powder is collected and dried.
EFFECT: production of a powder with a spherical or near-spherical particle shape.
