FIELD: rocket and space technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rocket and space technology, namely to the device of propulsion systems. The cooling system of the central body of the nozzle of a multi-chamber propulsion system includes a collector with a coolant, which is located inside the central body and is hydraulically connected to the environment, while in thermal contact with the collector, the anode is electrically isolated from the outer surface of the central body, the anode is at a distance of 10-4 cm to 1 cm through electrically insulating elements is connected to the outer surface of the central body, representing the cathode, the anode and the cathode form an evacuated sealed cavity with a finely dispersed, easily ionized powder with a low work function inside it, a bulk density in an amount varying from 1.18⋅20-5 kg /m3 up to 1.18⋅20-2 kg/m3, electrically insulating elements that are located and rigidly fastened to one of the walls of the evacuated sealed cavity between the cathode and anode. Helium is used as a refrigerant. Cesium is used as a finely dispersed, easily ionizable powder with a low work function.
EFFECT: invention provides a reduction in the mass of the refrigerant per unit time due to thermionic cooling.
